Tik Tok influencer exposes evil hearts in shooting aftermath

A significant controversy emerged overnight on May 24, 2025, involving a 19-year-old TikTok influencer named Guy Christensen, known online as "YourFavoriteGuy," who has over 3.4 million followers. Christensen sparked widespread backlash after posting a video supporting Elias Rodriguez, the suspect accused of killing two Israeli Embassy staff members, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, in a shooting in Washington, DC. In the video, which garnered over 630,000 views before being removed by TikTok, Christensen described Rodriguez as a "resistance fighter" rather than a terrorist and urged his followers to support the suspect’s actions. He stated, “I do not condemn the elimination of the Zionist officials who worked at the Israeli embassy last night,” and referred to the victims as “war criminals” and “Zionists,” claiming the attack was not antisemitic but targeted their alleged Zionist affiliations. This was a reversal from an earlier video where he had condemned the murders

Christensen’s video included reading a manifesto allegedly posted by Rodriguez titled “Escalate For Gaza, Bring The War Home,” and he argued that Israel’s actions over the past two years justified such resistance, stating, “Israel has livestreamed a genocide to the entire world the last two years.” He denied accusations of antisemitism by noting Lischinsky’s self-identification as a Christian, though reports indicate Lischinsky was affiliated with Messianic Judaism, a movement not recognized as Jewish by mainstream Jewish denominations. In a follow-up “disclaimer” video, Christensen expressed concern about potential federal investigations spurred by pro-Israel activists and clarified, “I hate Nazis and I hate Zionists, so I don’t have a problem with you much if you’re not one of those things.”

TikTok removed the video for violating its Community Guidelines, which prohibit promoting violent or hateful content. A TikTok spokesperson stated, “Our Community Guidelines prohibit anyone from promoting violent or hateful actors, and we do not allow conspiracy theories that are violent or hateful, such as denying well-documented violent events.” Despite the removal, Christensen doubled down in a phone interview with the New York Post, refusing to sympathize with the victims and reiterating his stance that Rodriguez was a “resistance fighter.”
This insane take and the open rhetoric of hate and violence in general are just more of the symptoms of societal rot that we have become all too familiar with. The bible warns us in Isaiah not to fall into these mental traps that have us completely backwards from reality. The pride in these people's minds is the very chain keeping them in bondage to the evil that will eventually eat them alive.
Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
Proverbs 17:13 "If anyone returns evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.
