Is there something off at my church?

Is there something off at my church?

Daniel Justice

If the interpretation of scripture at your church is always a metaphor, get out now. They do not believe.

If the words of Christ are viewed as a 1st century self help guru, go find a church that believes. Jesus Christ didn't come to bring you 10 secrets to wealth and happiness.

Jesus Christ came to call hopeless sinners to repentance of sins and eternal grace. Jesus' plan for your life is for you to drop your pride and look to Him for your worth and understanding. Jesus doesn't have a salary range or career opportunity for you. He wants you to understand what you were made for and start seeing the world through His eyes. This is why listening to the Spirit becomes crucial for discernment. Combined with God's word fresh in your mind daily, you can respond to things biblically and spiritually leaning on God's objective view.

Be wary of "churches" offering blessed lives through an enlightened spiritual reframing of the world. This is thinly veiled new age mysticism aka "new thought". This is a blend of eastern mysticism, kabbalah and gnostic 1st century heresies. This is not biblical Christianity regardless of the words printed on the sign out front.

These twisted doctrines have crept into the charismatic church, as well as other historically conservative denominations. The Methodists, and Lutheran congregations on the east coast have churches that seem completely unrelated to the biblical church. Preaching social justice instead of Christ based scripture.

This is idolatry brothers and sisters. Recreating Jesus Christ and His teachings and commands in your preferred likeness is maybe the worst form of idolatry. Reject this societal madness that is idly allowing this! This is not the slow change of doctrine as men have always engaged in, this is infiltration and destruction from the enemy camp. These so called priests and pastors wearing the colors of "pride" (one of the 7 deadly sins) understand very well what they are doing. They will feign ignorance when confronted but progressive is a great term for them. As they believe the congregation has swallowed the previous false teaching they progress on to the next one. Within a year or two the church resembles a meeting of an occult ritual rather than a gathering of the saints. Before long though they always devolve into the original false doctrines. "Did God really say?" And "you can be like God." Let them talk long enough and you will hear it come out.
